Peter is an outstanding mediator, as good as or better than any I have ever worked with. In addition to things I could say about a number of mediators-he is extremely smart and always well prepared - I believe that there are a number of things that set Peter apart, that really make him unique. First, he was an outstanding litigator for many years, he litigated many, many types of sophisticated commercial disputes, so there are very few types of business disputes that he has not had some experience with. This allows him to bring a real-world understanding of the possible outcomes and costs of moving forward with litigation if a mediation is not successful, and also of the mentality that clients often bring to a dispute and mediation. Second, while he is very good at honestly giving his opinion to a party as to the strengths and weaknesses of a case, Peteris completely neutral, in the sense of no bias between the parties and also in the sense that he does not inject his own ego into the process. This neutrality is displayed in a number of ways, maybe most in his willingness to allow both parties to fully tell their story and to really listen. In my experience, clients see that Peter is neutral, which builds trust in the process. Third, Peter is relentless, he will not give up as long as he believes a resolution is possible and the parties want to try to get to a resolution.
